Kaduna Crash: Co-Pilot Dies 2 Months After Wedding, Pilot weeks to Marriage

As Nigerians mourn the death of Nigeria’s Army Chief, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and other officers who died in a plane crash in Kaduna, on Friday, friends and families of the deceased are still in shock.

One of the victims is Flight Lt. Alfred Ayodeji Olufade, who just married a couple of months ago.

His friend described him as “Our Heroes” in a post on social media.

A friend, Onovwo-Omasoro Ali Ovie, tweeting @OvieNews, says “Rest in Peace Alfred. Flight Lt. AA Olufade just married two months ago. Our Heroes.”

Olufade, Platforms Africa gathered, was the co-pilot of Flt Lt Taiwo Olufemi Asaniyi, who also died barely two months after his introduction ahead of his wedding.

Meanwhile, the crash also killed NAF pilot, Flt Lt Taiwo Olufemi Asaniyi, who was about to get married.

Friends and family members of a Nigerian Air Force pilot, Flt Lt Taiwo Olufemi Asaniyi, are grief-stricken at the moment as the young officer, who was about to wed, died when a Beachcraft 350 aircraft crashed at the Kaduna International Airport on Friday.

Asaniyi was the pilot of the ill-fated jet which also claimed the lives of his co-pilot, Flt Lt Alfred Ayodeji Olufade, newly appointed Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, and eight others.

Friends and associates of Asaniyi have since taken to the social media to mourn the youth.

A tweep, @_victor_kings, wrote, “Flight lieutenant T.O Asaniyi. He flew the plane, we had his introduction in March. I was going to be his best man.”

“May their soul rest in peace. My condolences,” @bcube234 tweeted.

At least 20 military officers, according to a report by PUNCH, have lost their lives in the last three months in three crashes involving Nigerian Air Force jets.
